Department of Forensic Medicine, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Fudan Universtiy is one of the best teaching, research and forensic expertise centers in China, formerly known as Department of Forensic Medicine, Shanghai Medical University. It was established in September 1984. Forensic pathology, forensic clinical medicine, forensic biology, forensic toxicological analysis and forensic toxicology are included in this department. Thanks to the effort of former dean Professor Zi-Qin Zhao, Department of Forensic Medicine has become the prime teaching, research and forensic expertise center. It has 1 professor, 6 associated professors and 4 lecturers. Now, it is chaired by deputy dean Yi-Wen Shen.
