Research Interests
The major scientific achievements of our research group include 1) We found both paclitaxel-based chemotherapy and radiotherapy change the immune pattern, which selectively reduce the number and impair the suppressive function of Treg, besides their direct inhibition of tumor cell proliferation. Also, TLR1/2 agonist, BLP, not only up-regulates the cytotoxicity T cells but also down-regulates regulatory T cells to enhance anti-tumor immune response, which will benefit tumor immunotherapies.2) Our studies found a set of microRNAs involve in the inflammation and tumor growth with the complex mechanisms, which provides specific target for the disease diagnosis and therapy. 3) We demonstrates for the first time that IL-10 producing B cells are down-regulated in cell number and immunosuppressive function in Grave’s disease, which might contribute to pathogenesis and relapse of disease.
The ongoing projects include 1) Combination of chemo-radiotherapy with immunotherapies in the treatment of cancer, specially in glioma in phase II clinical trail. 2) Immune regulators, such as non-coding RNA coordinate with innate immune cells in inflammation associated neoplastic transformation. 3)The immune regulating function of B cell in autoimmune disease.
Overall research goals: Based on the concept of translational medicine, we study the host immune functions in various disease, consequently provides the potential immunotherapy strategies.
Scientific objectives foucs on 1) making CAR-T for converting the immune suppresion to immune enhancement. 2) exploring the key microRNA and its target in the inflammation associated neoplastic transformation.3) working on regulatory B cell and its function.
