“Medical Immunology”, one of the six-year undergraduate professional courses for foreign students studied in Clinical Medicine, is the Ministry of Education Brand demonstration course issued in 2013. Professor Yiwei Chu is the director of this course. She is also the chief editor of 《Medical Immunology》 (Annotated Edition). The course covers overview of the immune system, immunogens, structure and function of immunoglobulins, organization and expression of immunoglobulin gene, the complement systems, cytokines and cell adhesion molecules, major histocompatibility complex, innate immunity and innate immune response, antigen processing and presentation, T-cell maturation, activation, differentiation and cell-mediated immunity, B-cell maturation, activation, differentiation and humoral responses, immune regulation, immunological tolerance, hypersensitivity, autoimmunity and autoimmune disease, tumor immunology, and transplantation immunology. This course is set to 3.0 credits including theory and experiment course. Teaching objectives is to enable students to master the professional theoretical knowledge and the necessary experimental techniques in immunology. Through the course, Students will develop the ability in explaining the pathogenesis of the clinical problems.
